In an earlier post I shared that Google had taken unusual (but very welcome) step to announce an algorithm change well in advance that would have “a significant impact” on search results on mobile devices. In the lead up to D-Day (April 21, 2015) this update became known as “Mobilegeddon”, as doomsdayers predicted an almost catastrophic upset of mobile search results.
Google did mention that the rollout of this new algo would take up to a week, and it seems that this is in fact the case: the internet is not alight with “OMG-This-Update-Has-Wiped-Out-My-Business” style posts. In fact, there is a sense of “Has Anything Actually Changed?” in the ether as I write this post- just before noon on Friday April 23, AEST.
