Online Marketing for Dental Practices: It’s Not All About Facebook!

October 27, 2011 by Jacki Kearslake

When promoting your practice online, the key is NOT to put all your eggs into one basket, as Sue Cockburn says in her great post on Social Media Today. You can read that post here.

Online Marketing for Dental Practices- A Balanced Portfolio

While Facebook seems like a great place for your Dental Practice to have a presence right now (and I would totally agree with you!) you mustn’t forget how critical it is to simply have a great website that is informative and pleasant to visit for Real People, and that the Search Engines will rank well. Sue’s penultimate paragraph says it beautifully:

For most small businesses, having a well designed and regularly updated website is a no-brainer. Although not everyone is on Facebook, in today’s world most of us research online when looking for information about a business – 68% of us according to NielsenWire.

Australian Dental Practices need to be visible on the internet, and it is a great strategy to first develop your website to be so informative and educational that the Search Engines show it to people searching for your location and service keywords. Your social media strategy should support this- and this will become increasingly important in the future.

Confidential, Effective Help With EVERY Aspect Of Your Practice’s Online Visibility

Dentists often confide in me that they find the whole online marketing caper to be frustrating, exasperating and, on occasions, overwhelming.

There are so many moving parts. So many conflicting opinions. So many things to take into consideration.

This is where dentists seem to run into trouble. They put their trust in a digital agency or marketing consultant, only to discover that they end up paying more money than they needed to, or have been trapped into something that will cost them a lot to get out of, or they don’t seem to be achieving their expectations.

That’s where Dental Web Strategies comes in.

Our primary purpose is to help Australian dental practice owners and managers to understand online marketing and to do theirs effectively. We’re on your side: we make sure we stay abreast of best practices in all areas of online marketing so that we can pass this knowledge on to you, and help you make the best possible decision about your online visibility.
